Heinrich Hoffmann (1885 – 1957) served as Adolf Hitler’s official photographer from when Hitler took control of the Nazi party in 1921 until his death in 1945. Hoffmann estimates he took over half a million photographs of Hitler over the course of his career. His portraits were the most significant source of Nazi propaganda materials published over the course of close to 25 years, everything from postcards, posters, magazines, postage stamps and picture books. “Hitler’s tall and handsome figure, the lock of dark hair that waves coquettishly over his brow and his neatly clipped mustache brought sighs from thousands of women of the middle class who called him “der schoene Adolf (handsome Adolf)” and “unser Adolf (our Adolf)” in tones of rapturous admiration.”

– “The Pittsburgh Press” Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania • Sun, Oct 5, 1930 p.61

Even though the subject of Adolf Hitler’s extraordinary and most formidable sexual charisma may be an awkward topic of discussion for many, it is albeit a fascinating one. An undeniable fact, it is well documented that it was Hitler’s massive sex appeal that contributed greatly to his meteoric rise to power. Hitler and Hoffmann deftly exploited his dangerously potent sexual magnetism and physical attractiveness to skillfully draw in the female vote and garner the staunch support of the fairer sex, which is what ultimately brought Hitler to ultimate power.

Let’s face it – Adolf Hitler not only pioneered, but expertly crafted, honed and channeled the intensely erotic and irresistible “bad boy” rockstar persona. He was truly a phenomenon the likes of which had never been witnessed in all of history. Hitler was the entire package: an adored object of desire, a powerful sex symbol and a dreadfully unattainable and pined-for lover. The world wouldn’t witness this same level of celebrity fervor and adulation that he roused from the masses for many decades to come, not until Elvis stepped onto the stage to deftly channel the same level of entrancing and erotic energy.

Hitler’s potent sexual charisma paired up with his dazzling eyes, passionate gestures, bewitching gaze, striking vocal crescendos, and climactic shouting only magnified his entrancing aura and made him an instant cultural phenomenon. The charming and charismatic Hitler didn’t simply hypnotize the crowd, he seduced them. Sex sells, and whenever Hitler stepped up on stage, an entire country eagerly consumed whatever he was peddling.

“Outwardly so hard, he is touchingly soft within,” wrote future deputy Führer Rudolph Hess, capturing the contradictory qualities that helped the Nazi leader gain the devotion of men and women. Although he kept his body clothed in public, Hitler’s speeches left him bathed in sweat and gave onlookers the sense they had just made an intimate connection. “At times it seems as if [his words] are torn from the very heart of the man, causing him indescribable anguish,” marveled the writer Michael Fry.”

– Quote from “Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present” By Ruth Ben-Ghiat

Whether he was flashing his lithe legs in a pair of taut lederhosen, deftly flipping his trademark forelock back into place, or channeling his raw unbridled masculine energy into carefully choreographed mannerisms and gesticulations on stage with the deftness of a modern rockstar, his otherworldly aura still manages to enchant and infatuate many, even one hundred years out from when he first stepped up onto the world political stage.

World’s first teen idol? Perhaps the marvel of Adolf Hitler has been most accurately summed up on ‘History’s Biggest Sex Symbols’ as a “one man boy band”. Certainly ‘The Youngstown Vindicator’ succinctly captured the mystique of his appeal best in the 13 October 1938 article ‘The Fabulous Führer’:

“Today he is the awesome Führer, but even now women – from matron to schoolgirl – dimple and smile sweetly when Adolf Hitler is near them, for he possesses a strange charm for German womanhood.”

Interestingly the effect of Der Führer’s irresistible magnetism wasn’t just confined to the German ladies either, here is a fellow and deeply enamored American woman named Carla De Vries who stealthily snuck in a solicitous smooch with Handsome Adolf at the 1936 Summer Olympics while visiting Berlin 😘

Below I present a growing collection of my very own personal favorite photographs that expertly captured Hitler’s uniquely seductive magnetism, and which aptly radiate with his inimitable and commanding authority, confidence and power.

Hitler! That’s all we talked about then, and all we talk about now. I was always opposed to his political ideas and never hesitated to tell him so. As a matter of fact, I was finally banished from his presence because I couldn’t keep my mouth shut. That was about 1939, and it was mainly Martin Bormann’s doing. My husband was told he must never again bring me with him when he visited the Führer. But in the early days, I must admit, I found Hitler very attractive. He could be most charming, especially to women. I always used to say there were two sides to his nature—in private he was the gallant Austrian, in public the harsh Prussian.”

– Erna Hoffmann, Heinrich Hoffmann’s wife during an interview by New Yorker journalist Bernard Taper conducted on 27 October 1950

I have always referred to the dual nature of Hitler’s personality so deftly described here by Erna Hoffmann as the ‘Austrian Painter versus German Führer’ paradox. Who was Hitler really? How was this deeply sensitive and artistic soul able to create, dwell alongside, and eventually became entirely overshadowed and consumed by his darkly manifested “Führer” persona. The lines becoming blurred between actor and character, reality and fantasy, individual and the collective whole. Can this man ever be known and truly understood? And what is it that makes him so captivating and dreadfully irresistible?

The famous forelock swish, certain to make any lady swoon… ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

“From his earliest days as a rabble-rouser in Munich, Hitler recognized the importance of appealing to women. As Dietrich Eckart, a founder of the tiny German Workers’ Party that soon transformed itself into the Nazi Party, explained in 1919, Germany needed a savior who would be a bachelor. “Then we shall bring in the women,” he maintained. It was a concept that Hitler adopted as his own, regularly explaining: “My bride is Germany.” As difficult as it may be to imagine today, this contributed to the sexually charged magnetism the young Hitler exuded. He presented himself as unattached to any woman but married to his mission, making him theoretically unattainable—but, for many of his female followers, an object of longing.”

Herr Wolf: The Beauty and the Beast 🐺

So I’ve recently had yet another breakthrough in trying to understand and comprehend my own deep infatuation with Adolf Hitler. Oddly enough, the epiphany happened when I came across my favorite childhood book recently, the timeless classic “Where the Wild Things Are”. I remembered also being deeply infatuated with Max, the boy who, when he dresses up as a wolf, is instantly transported into a wild, chaotic and primitive world. A world that directly mirrors his feral state of mind and grants complete liberation from boredom, loneliness, isolation and frustration. Interestingly I discovered this book in kindergarten around the exact same time I saw the documentary that first introduced me to Hitler. Both elicited a very deep yearning and restless stirring in my heart, a call or invitation of sorts to access long forgotten places, a fleeting glimpse into hidden but somehow achingly familiar realms. It was an awakening of an ecstatically irrational and primordial state of consciousness.

Interestingly I had also became extremely infatuated with werewolves at this age. I already recognized that I was very different from my peers, due to my autism diagnosis, which lead to a sense of intense vulnerability due to chronic social rejection. I desperately wanted the ability to transform, to transcend, to turn into something wild and free and fierce and powerful. The desire of donning Max’s wolf costume perhaps offered a direct connection to dormant powers and to my own empowering primitive instincts. It symbolically represented a means of access to that ancient and secret realm where myths and legends are born and mystery is celebrated and embraced. That long lost world that gives harbor to our most fierce and unbridled desires, breaking across a rigidly enforced threshold and shattering the boundary between what makes us human and what will always remain our innermost untamed beast that desperately yearns to break free.

I was amazed to discover that werewolves have historically represented a shift in consciousness. Once transmuted into wolf form, a person has completely lost touch of their “human” senses and unabashedly gives in to their animal instincts. I wanted to abide in that realm that lies outside the constraints of rules and boundaries and which confines us to the oppressive limitations of space and time. Adolf, the “noble wolf”, transports me there. It is a well known fact that Hitler identified with wolves all of his life, even taking on the pseudonym “Herr Wolf” early on in his political career. Just like Max’s wolf suit, he offers a means of access to our most unconscious and unbridled desires. People SAW that in him, I SEE that in him, it is both reassuringly familiar and terrifyingly novel, that which is much desired is laid bare and is tantalizingly within reach. It is an instant recognition. Unhinged, untamed, savage and free. The modern world ripped us violently away from that place, the place of dreams and of wild and reckless abandonment.

I do not know why the “beast” remains such an integral part of us as human beings, perhaps it is simply a necessary means of our survival, driving our most base biological needs to procreate and to evade danger. But nonetheless it is there. Adolf Hitler saw it and embraced it in himself, and this generated an intense aura of libidinous lust and mystique that very few could actually resist. He understood that there is a part of our nature that cannot be tamed, that yearned to break loose, and he used that to exploit our deepest cravings and to channel our darkest desires. This man ruled both worlds, shifting deftly between the human and the beastly – he embodied both the civilized and uncivilized, orchestrated unparalleled order and unleashed unspeakable chaos, he was the intellectual and the brute – equally and simultaneously BOTH of our otherwise opposing natures – and therefore he is perhaps the most human of us all, instead of the least.

This particular photograph below is very special to me – it’s the exact picture that I came across back in high school that initiated my intense physical attraction to Hitler – this image captures the unique intensity in his eyes that is so alluring, so seductive, it’s not difficult to know exactly what was on his mind here… 🫣

It’s extremely important to me that I succinctly CLARIFY something here that I have unfortunately neglected to do up until this point outside of my social media accounts. What I am about to explain is understandably quite confusing, and perhaps impossible, for many people to grasp (if they even care to or are at least willing to try). It is absolutely VITAL that I convey that my interest in Adolf Hitler has absolutely NOTHING to do with his sickening worldview and warped ideology. He inflicted more damage, pain, suffering and destruction to this world than any human being in history. I am NOT in anyway attracted to or support any of his political beliefs or his heinous deeds WHATSOEVER!!!

Of course most people cannot separate any aspect of this man from his evil legacy, and they certainly should not ever do so. I will confess that I am completely baffled as to why, of all people in history, I am continually drawn to immersing myself in the study of this particular individual or why I developed such an intense sexual attraction to Hitler. I want to understand. I need to know the answers to this. This website has been a journey of trying to understand that and to take a much deeper look at myself, to comprehend why I experience any kind of connection to him whatsoever. Because ideologically and politically I am the polar opposite of the values of the vile movement that he created and manifested as his legacy. I am a staunch ally 🌈 and a liberal democrat who embraces and cherishes the diversity found in the HUMAN race. In fact I myself have multiple disabilities and would have certainly been persecuted by Hitler’s heinous regime. Being an empath and HSP, I am in fact very much vehemently drawn to standing in solidarity with ANYONE that is persecuted, bullied and ostracized in this world. Because I myself have experienced and intimately know that unique pain.

As explained earlier, having first encountered and “experienced” Hitler at age 5, I believe that I very simply and intuitively knew that he was very different, perhaps even neurodivergent like myself. That was definitely the initial spark of my infatuation, seeing or sensing someone who was simultaneously very unique and yet oddly familiar to me in some way. As I got into high school and read more and more about him, it was indeed all of the paradoxes that existed within this one man that became my driving force to try and understand him all the more. He is the most challenging puzzle that I have ever tackled in my life, and I don’t feel that I’m even CLOSE to scratching the surface… but I refuse to give up, because I believe it is important and perhaps even vital to understanding what’s really there just beneath the surface – not only in him, but perhaps in myself and I suspect in every single one of us…

“Bad Boy” Sex Appeal

I’ve been delving into the curiosity of attraction to “bad boys” quite a bit over the past year and keep running across the term “hybristophilia” in trying to possibly understand my own infatuation a bit better, and hopefully help shed some light on the topic for others that might also be confused or struggling with their own feelings and attraction to Hitler. The first article I came across that completely validated my experience is titled “Sex Appeal: Why are so many women aroused by evil killer dictators?”. NO we aren’t alone and apparently YES this really is a thing!

The phenomenon I’m researching known as hybristophilia might help to explain the rarely studied and deeply seductive appeal of the world’s most evil dictators.

Hybristophilia (or scelerophilia) is a paraphilia where someone is romantically attracted to bad people, delinquents, or criminals. I would go as far to say that dictators fit well into this category. Literature about hybristophilia describes it as female attraction to “bad boys” or to obnoxious guys. Psychologist Leon F. Seltzer proposes the condition could be related to the riskiness involved with dating a criminal, the desire to tame or fix them, and primitive instincts based on evolutionary psychology.

Hybristophilia is unique among other paraphilias, in that it has primarily been observed among women. Like many paraphilias, hybristophilia exists along a spectrum. A more moderate form of the condition would include serial killer “groupies” who may experience a mental disconnect between the reality of an individual’s crimes and an idealized concept of the men behind the actions.

For well over a decade Tumblr has fostered a unique community called Reichblr consisting of hundreds of men and women that are deeply infatuated with Hitler as well as other prominent Third Reich personalities like Joseph Goebbels and Josef Mengele. Creativity abounds in expressing our unique love and devotion to our chosen bad boy. 💗

Reichblr is NOT a community of Neo-Nazis and right-wing extremists as is a common misconception upon first glance. In fact we are QUITE the opposite, most of us are individuals that would be persecuted by these groups for being neurodivergent or members of the LGBTQ+ community. We are predominantly a more left-leaning group of artists that just happens to have a very unique and controversial special interest.

So what explains hybristophilia? Criminologist Dr. Meghan Sacks first notes “the phenomenon of the ultimate bad boy. … Certain women are attracted to those who are a little darker … a little ‘bad.’ This would be the ultimate form of that.” As with true crime itself, an innocent curiosity and drive to learn more about criminality may lead some women to form a more intimate relationship to the offenders than they perhaps intended.

Another underlying factor in hybristophilia would be many women’s tendency toward nurturing behaviors. Certain women may feel empathetic toward criminals, expressing understanding of their transgressions, regardless of how vile their acts may be. “Women may see why a person became the ‘monster’ they may have become,” Sacks says. “They want to reach out and help and do something. [They may feel] there’s a way to ‘fix or help this person,’” says Sacks.

Forensic psychiatrist Robert Kaplan (who is featured in the MagellanTV documentary Hitler’s Secret Sex Life) has studied the phenomenon of hybristophilia and compares infatuation with criminals and killers to extreme forms of fanaticism. These women are usually fascinated by the darkest extremes of human behavior and are usually on the fringes of society themselves. Many psychologists view these women as deeply insecure people who cannot find love in normal ways or as ‘love-avoidant’ females who seek romantic relationships that cannot be consummated.”

I’ve highlighted all the currently defined traits of hybristophilia that deeply resonate with me personally. I think there are MANY other factors at play here, not just for myself but for others, like even the simple fact these men are very handsome and charismatic. Also basic biological factors like being drawn to alpha males in positions of power. But as those topics are more thoroughly studied and much better understood I thought it was really interesting to put this theory and discussion forward in understanding romantic attraction to Adolf Hitler and other dictators.

Final note: Oddly I discovered that there really wasn’t much in common between myself and the other women I communicated with that have experienced an attraction to Adolf Hitler. A few were also neurodivergent/autistic like myself, but the vast majority are not. Most are highly intelligent and extremely accomplished in life, where I am not. Also for all but one other individual that I have communicated with over the course of the last several years, their attraction was only temporary and swiftly passed. I would therefore call it a ‘phase’ as they only struggled with it for only a very brief period, usually during a temporarily difficult time in their lives. So unfortunately I never got to the root of or solved this mystery, or received any reassurance that this would ever pass for me, but thankfully it does for the majority of people. It was still an interesting journey, and there were many moments I didn’t feel quite so alone. Hopefully I returned the favor of comfort to others in some way and I won’t be completely forgotten, but it definitely appears this particular journey to ever finding an answer has reached an end.

Twitter has really changed a lot lately, and there has been a shift in the way people think about history and the world, with more revisionists and challenges to the “establishment”, which means that certain subjects are no longer so verboten, thus opening the way for more great photos and genuine interest.

It’s been such a breath of fresh air! I kept getting blocked on Reddit for posting any of these historic photos with just dates and facts, no political commentary whatsoever, and it was so exasperating I stopped posting anywhere for months. It’s been so lovely to finally share again and exchange photos with so many fellow collectors!

Oh yes, all that information is historically accurate, and my own opinions are completely genuine. I’ve always had an intensely physical and emotional connection to this man, as awkward or unusual as that might be. I have found that there is actually a small but very passionate community of both men and women that share this same attraction. If you’d like to explore this topic from a more historical perspective, you can read a more detailed article with several relevant newspaper citations here:
